It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of former BSA Executive Director Richard Fitzgerald Hon. BSA earlier this month. Richard was a remarkable leader who shaped what the BSA is today. When he began in 1984 the BSA had 300 members and a budget under $200K, and upon his retirement in 2008 we had grown to the second largest local component with over 2500 members and a $4M budget. Mostly, Richard will be remembered for his intelligence, wit, and remarkable humor that will be deeply missed. Richard’s obituary can be found in the Boston Globe here.
