LDa Architecture & Interiors is seeking a Business Manager to join our collaborative team! This position is based in LDa’s Boston office (located in the SoWa Art + Design District).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Manager serves a key role in the day-to-day operations of the firm. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operations
Responsibilities include regular collaboration with firm Principals in setting firm budgets and assisting in managing firm Profit & Loss operations, including billing rates, staff utilization rates, and project profitability targets; providing monthly, quarterly, & annual reporting; working with the firm’s insurance broker on Professional Liability Insurance renewal
Bookkeeping
Responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable; setting up billing terms for new design projects; monthly invoicing; balancing the firm’s bank accounts; posting checks, wire transfers & credit card payments; reviewing staff expense reports; paying sales tax on FF&E purchases; tracking Flexible Spending withdrawals
Payroll & benefits
Responsibilities include submitting & posting payroll; reviewing & approving timesheets; tracking staff benefit time; working with the firm’s broker on annual health, disability & dental insurance renewal; updating 401k contributions; completing the annual Workers’ Compensation audit
Administrative
Responsibilities include monitoring and ordering office supplies; managing office equipment leases; serving as the main point of contact for the firm with the building management team
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the AEC industry
- Bachelor or Master’s degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Deltek Vision
- Excellent organization and attention-to-detail
- Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility in handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
