About This Position

Mount Vernon Group Architects, Inc. (MVG) is an award-winning architectural design firm with offices in Massachusetts and New Jersey. For 70 years, MVG has provided sustainable, cost-effective, design solutions for educational and municipal clients.

MVG is currently seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and have a passion for designing high quality, sustainable, K-12 schools and municipal projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 - 10 years of experience working for a design firm
  • Architecture or Interior Design Degree required
  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit – Enscape a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience coordinating contract documents for a variety of projects
  • Ability to visually communicate design ideas
  • Ability to work independently, shift focus and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take ownership of your work, see projects through to completion

Responsibilities

  • Produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents
  • Meet project deadlines and budget constraints
  • Create 3D visuals to convey design ideas
  • Select and present interior materials and colors
  • Interpret clients’ programs and develop space plans
