About Jamie Devol, Architect
Designing in Context
Creating Beauty
Preserving and Enhancing a Sense of Place
I am an experienced architect with a history of successful projects and satisfied clients. I design context-inspired new construction as well as renovations and additions that integrate well with the original structure. I create architecture that respects the character and scale of the neighborhood, contributes to a pleasing streetscape, and enhances a sense of place. I favor comfortable, light-filled spaces with pleasant sightlines and plentiful views to the outside. I employ sustainable design strategies, from the restoration and stewardship of existing buildings and their exceptional components (such as historic windows) to the use of eco-friendly materials, super-insulated walls and roofs, natural ventilation, optimal daylighting, solar heating, and geothermal conditioning. I enjoy working closely and cooperatively with clients to fulfill program requirements and to achieve their vision.
