Opening Reception: Co-Creating Boston's Future-Decker Exhibition

To celebrate the completion of the “Co-creating Boston’s Future-Decker” initiative, the BSA and the Mayor’s Housing Innovation Lab are hosting a celebratory event to showcase the thoughtful and innovative ideas and proposals shared throughout the open competition period, as well as the lessons learned from the initiative. The Future-Decker initiative invited community members, designers, and developers to envision new models of multifamily housing by drawing inspiration from Boston’s iconic triple-decker, first through a Request for Ideas, and later a Request for Proposals released in November 2023.

A terrific sampling of the Request for Ideas (RFI) responses and Request for Proposals (RFP) are now displayed both virtually and physically at the Boston Society for Architecture as a part of the Future-Decker: Contributions & Lessons Learned Exhibition. Attendees of the celebration event will have the chance to view the ideas, hear about the process, and continue to connect with others who are committed to addressing Boston's housing needs in creative ways.

Join us for this in-person event to celebrate ideas and proposals submitted to the Co-Creating Boston's Future-Decker initiative and to mark the conclusion of this and the Future-Decker: Contributions & Lessons Learned exhibition.
