Event Description

In 2017 and 2018, the Innova Group led integrated strategic facility master plans for two hospitals and the ambulatory network at John Muir Health (JMH) in CA. The resulting 12-year strategic capital investment plan incorporated strategic initiatives, operational demands, regulatory requirements, and major end-of-life investments through 2030. JMH largely executed on the ambulatory plan while deferring the hospital investments-- which were mostly seismic replacements resulting in limited ROI. In 2023 and 2024, The Innova Group worked with JMH to revisit and rescope the remaining plan, using a multi-disciplinary team to identify tactics to both reduce capital costs and increase margin to support the plan. This seminar will review the initial planning process and dig deeper into the methods and analyses used to rescope the plan to improve the financial feasibility. The seminar focuses on strategic/financial/operational planning versus medical planning & design.
