Bruner/Cott Architects will host a presentation and tour of Boston’s Huntington Theatre. Constructed in 1925 as the country’s first non-profit playhouse, the Huntington Theatre has been reimagined into a 21st century version of itself – inside and out. The goals of the project included preserving, restoring, and revitalizing the original theatre; upgrading the theatre’s technical capabilities and improving the patron experience; creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all users; and incorporating principles of sustainability throughout the project.
Nurit Zuker AIA, Senior Associate, Bruner/Cott Architects, will lead the discussion and share how the landmark theatre was restored in a way that acknowledges its historic past, but also reflects contemporary performing arts venue standards.
Tour Guides will include:
Charlie Floyd, Senior Project Manager, Shawmut Design and Construction
Lisa Harrington, Senior Architectural Conservator, Building Conservation Associates
Mary Nastasi, Manger, Historic Tax Credits, Ryan
