AIA MA Government Affairs Committee: State Designer Selection Board Presentation

At 8:30 am on Wednesday, February 12th, the AIA MA Government Affairs Committee will hold it’s monthly meeting at BSA Space. This month the committee will host as its special guests, members of the state Designer Selection Board (DSB) and their Executive Director.

The main focus of the discussion will center on the DSB’s creation of a new online portal for use when applying for state projects that require designer services.

DSB members will discuss how Massachusetts state agencies and municipalities can use this system to search for designers and consultants for their projects and to enter statutorily required evaluations and references. They will also cover how designers will be able to register and provide disclosures online (no more mailing in master file brochures or providing sub-consultant disclosures), search the database, generate reports, and apply for projects.

This is an opportunity for all AIA members to learn about the process of applying for state work. For those members and firms that already do, this is an opportunity to speak directly with DSB members and ask questions in an informal setting.
