acilities Guidelines Institute (FGI) Update - Changing to Keep Pace with Clinical Practice

The 2018 Guidelines are now available for subscription and purchase. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is developing their checklists for formal roll-out this year. The 2018 edition is a quantum leap in the development of the FGI Guidelines. Major revisions have been made to the documents including separating Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities into two documents. There are major updates that respond to changing clinical practice both inpatient and outpatient. This presentation will review the major changes and provide an update on other initiatives FGI has undertaken.

Kirsten Waltz AIA, ACHA, EDAC served as vice-chair for the 2018 Out Patient Facilities Guidelines, and is currently serving on the 2022 Edition Steering Committee. (Yes, we are already working on 2022!)

Kurt Rockstroh FAIA, FACHA, FGI Board of Directors Past President, has been involved with the last seven editions of the FGI “Guidelines for Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities”. He currently serves as the Past President of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) Board of Directors and is co-chair of the Acoustics Work Group for 2022.

For those who qualify, 1.5 LU/HSWs are available.
