Collection of data

BSA does not collect user identity or contact information from users' visits to BSA websites unless voluntarily provided by the user. For each visitor to a BSA website, the visitor's computer reaches us through a particular IP (Internet Protocol)address. BSA's servers automatically collect this IP address and domain type but not the Users' email address.

BSA collects only the domain type, IP address, the email addresses of those who communicate with us by email, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our webpage and to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor, and is shared with other reputable organizations to help them contact consumers for marketing purposes and with prospective advertisers of BSA websites.

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by an Internet user's browser on the Internet user's hard drive. We use cookies to store visitors' preferences and record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site.

An Internet user's browser sets cookies (when enabled) that contain small amounts of data on the user's computer after a visit to any website. Cookies assist us in tracking users' activities beginning from a BSA website or subscription email through any part of a BSA website. The cookies themselves tell BSA nothing about the user personally.

Your contact information

The BSA collects contact information when the user has voluntarily provided its identity and contact information such as during an online purchase or request for information or online survey.

Only users who have voluntarily submitted email addresses will receive email from BSA. If you do not want to receive email from BSA, please let us know.

If you supply us with your postal address online, either during an online transaction or through a request form, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new programs and services or coming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know.

From time to time we sell access to our mailing list and you may receive mailings from other reputable companies. You can, however, have your name put on our do-not-share list by contacting us. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will be sure your name is removed from the list we share with other organizations.

Individuals who supply us with their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us with information or questions regarding orders they have placed online. We do not share your phone number with other organizations.

Upon request, we provide site visitors with access to unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password) that we maintain, transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases) that we maintain, and contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain. Consumers can access this information by contacting us. BSA will not provide consumers or members with usernames and passwords in unsolicited email.

Upon request, we offer visitors the ability to correct inaccuracies in contact information. Contact us to have this information corrected.

Ad servers

To try and bring you news and opportunities that are of interest to you, we have relationships with other companies that place ads on our webpages. As a result of your visit to our site, ad-server companies may collect information such as your domain type, your IP address and clickstream information.  For further information, consult the privacy policies of these companies.

Security

The BSA always uses industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data.  When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial information, we redirect visitors to a secure server. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.

Changes to BSA privacy policy

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes on our website to notify users of these changes and provide users with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your Internet information is used, you should check our website periodically. Customers may prevent their information from being used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected by contacting us.

If you believe that this site is not adhering to its stated privacy policy, we urge you to contact us.
