The Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development’s Career Centers offer employers access to qualified applicants, help planning job fairs, posting of jobs, assessment of job candidates, rental of conference rooms, targeted mailings and much more.

Participation in Massachusetts' WorkSharing Program is an alternative to layoffs. WorkSharing allows workers in an entire company, a company department or even a small unit within the company to share reduced work hours while also collecting unemployment insurance benefits to supplement their reduced wages. The BSA's Building Industry Classified allows you to post free classified listings, including for available space.

The Design Annex in Somerville offers co-working space with high-speed Internet access, a conference room, a lounge with a resource library, a kitchenette, shared equipment and a ventilated studio for model and presentation board building.

ArtistLink works with artists, artist groups, arts-minded organizations, real estate developers, municipalities and other proponents to develop spaces for creative individuals. The group also has a space-finder service.

MassEcon works through its member network to develop site options for expanding businesses. This free service can quickly identify properties that best meet a company’s key criteria.

Healthcare

BSA member firms receive discounted rates on health insurance.

Businesses can contact the State’s Health Connector program to discuss their coverage for employees. The state recently launched a new Commonwealth Choice Contributory Plan for businesses will fewer than 50 full-time employees.

The Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network provides access to experienced full-time business counselors, who provide counseling and training, financing, cash-flow analysis, marketing and sales strategies, business-plan development and much more.
